Netflix Suggestions

Netflix+Suggestions

Is it really possible that more than 250 million households have a Netflix account? Netflix, a small company that started in 1997 looking quite a bit different than it does now, entered the content-production industry in 2013, debuting its first series House of Cards. And has not looked back… Each new ”Netflix Original” series seems to be a bigger hit than the last.
It is probably no surprise, but the US is their largest revenue source, pulling in over $10 billion in 2019. One can only imagine what their 2020 revenue numbers look like post quarantine, with so many of us around the world stuck at home.
For many of us, and much to the growth of the streaming network, watching your favorite series most likely takes up quite a bit of your free time. I personally have always had a difficult time with one thing, what should I watch next? With Netflix being as popular as it is, I doubt I’m the only one that spends most of my time looking for what to watch rather, than actually watching a show. Here are some series’ that are very popular, some I recommend, and some that other Cypress students recommended
And don’t worry, no spoilers here.

A poll of Cypress Creek High School Student Favorites:
On the Block
Stranger Things
All American
Tiger King
End of the *****g World
Outer Banks
The Office

And a few of my favorites:
Money Heist – A Spanish, but translated to English Crime Drama, sort of…this may be my favorite series yet, and I cannot wait for the next(5th) season. Though you never know most of the character’s “real names” throughout it, you come to love these dark and seductive people. Each character has a strong, strong part, each adds to the amazing storyline; I’d like to be The Professor, quiet but genius. This is one series that has truly had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. It’s so good that I wish I could watch it for the first time, again. So good in fact, it has to be my number one pick on the list and you should go watch it for yourself. You will not be disappointed.
Stranger Things – If you haven’t already seen it, (you probably have) I recommend you add it to your watch list. With 3 seasons out and a fourth well into the making, it should keep you entertained for quite a while. Classified as a science fiction horror, the show starts in 1983 in Hawkins, Indiana in the Hawkins National Laboratory where something very odd happens. From unexplainable disappearances to a seemingly magical mysterious little girl, there is no shortage of action. To find out more you’ll have to watch it yourself, as I don’t want to spoil anything.

That ’70s Show – Obviously set in the ’70s, you can’t go wrong with a cast that consists of Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher, Wilmer Valderrama, and other great actors. Probably the funniest on my list, it’s full of mindless humor, derogatory comments, somewhat lewd behavior, and constant pranks – this show is worth every second you waste on it.

So, what is officially the best Netflix series? Well, this is hard to define since it seems there are so many categories. There are Netflix Originals, that they actually produce; Netflix Exclusives, produced by others but only played on Netflix; and then something called co-produced or licensed pickups, which – whatever…
For purposes of this, let us just list what they refer to as “Netflix Originals.” Rotten Tomatoes has ranked the best available to watch right now as follows; #5 Dash & Lily, #4 Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Return, #3 Feel Good, #2 The Baby-Sitters Club, #1 Master of None. Sadly, my favorites are a little farther down the list, Stranger Things at #52 and Money Heist at #60. Hopefully, this solved your issue of “what should I watch next?” So if you find some free time and have not seen any of my recommendations go check them out instead of endlessly scrolling and I promise you will not be disappointed.
