Cypress Creek soccer team for the first time is in one of the highest leagues this year, Champions League. Cypress Creek will be taking on some of the hardest teams in Florida. They will be taking on teams like Palm Harbor University, Wiregrass, Sunlake, Mitchell, Largo, and the rivals Wesley Chapel. Wesley Chapel has always been a very intense game for Cypress, it has been back and forth whenever Cypress Creek plays Chapel.
“Last year was a hard year for us but we persevered and pushed through the season,” said senior Jose Pacheco.
The year 2023- 2024 was a great season for the Cypress Creek soccer team and because of that great season it got Cypress where they are today, The Champions League. Cypress Creek had a 10-6 overall record for last year beating teams like Wiregrass Ranch, Wesley Chapel, and more.
“Out of all the seasons we had this may be the toughest one, so we must work hard and preserver,” said senior Chase LaSasso.
Cypress Creek soccer practices every single day of the week beside when its game day. Practicing with the team every day allows them to build chemistry with each other and work better together. The hard work from practice is paying off as Cypress Creek’s record is four wins and one loss right now and they still have games yet to come.
“As a captain on varsity I need to make sure everyone is working well together and communicating with each other and getting along.” said senior Diego Fuentes Giral.
