As the stands echoed with cheers, Addison Wilkes took on the court. With her enhanced talent no one could even tell she was a freshman. Addison is unlike many and played freshman on Varsity for the 2024 Cypress Creek volleyball season.

“I felt really good about being able to play on varsity. In the beginning I felt like I didn’t deserve it but towards the end of the season I got a little more confident in the game.” said freshman Addison Wilkes.
Playing on Varsity as a freshman is a huge achievement and takes a large amount of talent to accomplish. Cypress Creeks very own has done this. It is very difficult being the youngest on a team especially when others view you differently.
“Some people didn’t think I earned to be on varsity due to me being younger, but a lot of the older girls supported me through the season.” Added Wilkes.
Addison had an amazing season, and she is on the leaderboard for the most aces per set on her team. This freshman is unstoppable and will have everyone on the edge of their seat. She made history for Cypress Creek and has many years to come.
“The thing I was most proud of this season was being able to keep a positive attitude throughout the season even through the games I knew I could have played better.” Said Wilkes.
