THE CLAWWW!!! Freshmen Chloe Catalanotto and Kylee Axcius dress as the aliens from Toy Story 2 on Halloween Day to Cypress Creek Highschool, enjoying each other’s company. Students dressed as their grade-level theme would be tallied for spirit points, and the highest count out of the grades would win, giving an incentive to dress up. “We love showing school spirit,” said the two girls.

Feed us, Seymour! The Cypress Creek Highschool Ceramic’s Little Shop rests in the IPAC’s lobby, displaying various ceramic student’s talented works. The ceramics department instructed students to craft artworks to be sold, as material costs add up. “Tools and glazes and other stuff are pretty pricy,” said senior Aiden Venegas.

Vibrancy within music. Juniors Marcus Mitchell and Alyssa Fougere play their fall concert music at it’s respective showcase, displaying their talents through their electric blue and striking red guitars. Students were instructed to wear formal black at the concert, but their guitars did not have a dress code- as they were all personal ones, brought in by the performers. “We have a pretty small class for intermediate guitar, but everyone is close,” said junior guitarist Chase Copenhaver.

Beneath what’s seen. Senior Lindsey Overland shows off her newest AP Art piece at Art Club, displaying her talent and ideas through her medium. AP Art students are all allowed to create what they desire with whatever medium, but all work has to be based on one central idea that will be on their portfolio. “I chose a sheep because they’re usually seen as weak or obedient, and she’s not enjoying being portrayed this way.”
